A Head of Department Maths Teacher is required for a top British International school in Beijing for an August 2016 start.

This is a selective international school for children from 2 – 18 years and one of the top international schools in the region, part of a well respected and much sought after education group. Their curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, with adjustments made to content to better reflect their international student body and context. In Sixth form (Years 12 and 13) the students study the IB curriculum. They aim to provide the best possible British style education to English-speaking expatriates in Beijing; their standards are high, their programme is broad and varied, and their examination results are excellent.

Beijing is a bustling city with more than 13 million people on an area of 16,800 sq. km – the size of Belgium. The Beijing seasons are clearly marked by changes in weather and temperatures, and surprising splashes of colors. Beijing today is a city of vast contrasts – the new intermingles with the old, and the whole city is developing rapidly. Beijing is also home to a sizable expatriate population comprising members from the business community, NGOs, embassies and foreign students.

You should be a Maths teacher with a real passion for your subject. You should have previous head of department or leadership experience. The school are looking for teachers with relevant UK and/or IB curriculum teaching experience. On occasion, the school will also employ outstanding teachers with other internationally recognised qualifications and British curriculum experience. In order to be qualified, teachers must possess a degree (usually a 3 year course at UK University) coupled with a specialised and relevant Educational/Teaching diploma issued by a reputable institution (usually 1 year). Alternatively, teachers take a specialised 4-year teaching degree, leading to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualification. You must have 5 years of post qualifying teaching experience.

Salary for teachers upwards from RMB 333,115 per annum depending on qualifications and experience plus generous stipend for head of department role; One off Relocation Allowance; Housing allowance; Tuition for dependents; Flights; Medical Insurance
