ESL Teaching Positions in China

Our client is based in Hangzhou and has 30 schools spread throughout the country providing education for 3-18 year olds but also providing one-to-one adult VIP classes. Teachers who are creative, energetic, hardworking and outgoing are required for these positions. Teaching experience is not necessary but being passionate about working with children and young people is required. Our client’s schools provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to new teachers. Support is also given to allow teachers to enjoy adventures and become professionals.
Region
Hangzhou is situated in Eastern China’s Zhejiang Province and it has been regarded as being the ‘most beautiful city in China’. With approximately 8.5 million people living there it is an area that has many amenities and facilities that allow new teachers to experience the real ‘China’. The ex-pat community also provide many events for example hiking and biking, for people to get to know each other as well as ex-pat bars that allow for social gatherings. Transport facilities are easy to attain with taxis, excellent bus routes, a soon to be finished subway and the biggest network of public bikes in the world. With Shanghai only 45 minutes away transport such as the airports, train stations and bus stations will get you there.
Teaching
Students are immersed in English and no Chinese is spoken in the classroom. Fun and interactive lessons are used to provide a change from study for Chinese students which allow them to enjoy and engage in lessons. Chinese teaching assistants are provided in every classroom to help translate and mark homework. Resources are also available for example books, Power-point presentations, dice and balls.

- Monthly accommodation allowance: Beijing: 2,500 RMB, Nanyang: 1,000 RMB per month.

Requirements:
- Passport holders from Canada, Ireland, the UK, America, New Zealand or Australia
- A recognized EFL qualification (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA/DELTA)
- A university degree
- Teaching experience preferred but not essential
- Are outgoing, enthusiastic, positive, sociable, hard-working, patient and professional
- Are looking for a challenge and enjoy working with young learners
