[Full-time] Director of Sustainability Footwear Material Sourcing at Adidas

*Purpose: *

Lead the creation of a sustainability program for footwear material sourcing and manage the implementation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with SEA, lead the regional implementation of the adidas Group chemical management program for Footwear T2 suppliers to include:
Training to build suppliers’ capabilities on chemical management.
Manage the implementation of chemical management audit program with the Footwear T2 suppliers..
Lead the engagement with Footwear T2 suppliers to ensure disclosure of chemical usage and effluents
Baseline the current state of chemical usage in T2 suppliers, conduct risk assessments, and plan roadmap for adoption of preferred chemical formulations.
Act as the regional lead to work with Material Sourcing, HQ Material teams, and T2 suppliers on the development and adoption of alternative chemical formulations to comply with adidas Group chemical targets.
Lead the implementation of Bluesign®/Bluefinder for assessment of suppliers’ chemical formulations to facilitate adoption of preferred chemistry.
Work with material sourcing team to create and document a roadmap in each key material segment for the replacement of existing materials with Environmentally Preferred Materials (EPM).
Develop and present business cases for the conversion to EPMs where needed.
Drive implementation of Sustainable Material Tracking Tool (SMTT) with suppliers through the Material Sourcing team for materials where relevant.
Represent FW material sourcing for engagement with SEA, MDI, and Apparel/ A&G; teams to define sustainability requirements and align implementation plans.
Lead the outreach to Footwear T2 and T3 suppliers to educate them on the sustainability programs and adidas group requirements.
Maintain strong network of relationships with T2 and T3 suppliers, and industry organizations to build knowledge base for sustainability topics.
Support Sr. Director Material Sourcing to represent adidas Group in sustainability conferences and industry meetings as appropriate and necessary.
Continually develop a strong team and foster teamwork between internal and supplier teams.
Build an effective organisation structure. Ensure adequate training and development is in place to meet the needs of the organisation. Take a leading role in succession plan development for our future talents. *Key Relationships: *

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Management experience, including leading, developing, and motivating people and building effective teams. Experience managing virtual teams is a plus.
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Strategic thinking and result orientation
Strong understanding of footwear and material manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of chemistry related to footwear manufacturing.
Strong planning and organizational skills
Pro-active approach and thinking outside of the box
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Prerequisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

Four-year college or university degree preferably in related fields
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Footwear, Chemistry, Sustainability, or related field.

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Manage the product development process for assigned styles from seasonal kick off through to commercialization. Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to provide effective transition from brief/design through to development “buy-ready” commercialisation, on time, within the agreed margin parameter and at the required quality standards

Key Responsibilities:

Communicate all necessary information to Marketing, Design, Suppliers and LO/OC to ensure the effective and efficient creation of outstanding product
Ensure target price and product designs are aligned through predictive costing. Review, validate and approve T1 costing information throughout the entire creation process. Ensure compliance to agreed standards. Negotiate with factory as needed
Manage handover from design to factory to ensure that all information provided to factory is complete. Manage factory feedback to design and marketing and incorporate where quality or cost can be improved without sacrificing product aesthetics
Ensures timely and accurate data entry by factory regarding BOM, costing or other data as required at calendar milestones
Evaluate all prototypes for compliance with AD, manages fit approval/size specification, approval of color, accessories and materials. Manage comments to factory.
Ensure that all materials and accessories as well as prototypes are tested and adhere to adidas quality, safety and A01 standards. Manage quality exceptions with senior management as needed
If required, review size sets for accuracy of measurements and merchantability of complete size range including logo placement and fit. (LO/OC to approve size sets not requested/approved by CC after buy ready release)
Review and sign off sealing sample with complete AD including all related documents prior to buy ready dates. Ensure full conformity to published policies to ensure a final legal AD for final product
Researches innovation from market or supply chain as far as garment construction, pattern/fit, embellishment, trims. Work cross functionally with BOPS teams, aIT, Sourcing and factories to implement into product creation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of material construction and related testing
Knowledge of wear and physical product testing
Knowledge of production garment construction and manufacturing
Ability to fit a garment and comment to T1 on changes required
Knowledge of costing and ability to negotiate as required
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Understanding of the respective vision and strategy for the brands. Ability to communicate to LO/OC/Factory the vision and strategy as well as success criteria needed from sourcing and T1 teams
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Strong IT skills (MS Office) and ability to work with Product Data Management Systems
Domestic and International Travel as required
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

College or University degree in clothing technology and/or manufacturing or comparable education
Minimum 5 years of work experience in garment/textile industry

[Full-time] Category Manager NEO Apparel Marketing at Adidas

Key Tasks:

Functional:
Contribute to the development of the product marketing plan and range built for NEO Global Apparel
Set targets to achieve NEO apparel goals for adidas China and Region Asia and manage the turnovers for the defined category product range
supporting the growth & expansion plan of adidas China for NEO beyond 1500 NEO stores
Monitor product financials (turnover, standard & go-in margin, SKU count, product efficiency, buying backlog) and initiate business development action
