Palsgaard has decided to employ an operational General Manager/Sales Director to be based in Shanghai.

The strategy is to set up a strong distribution network in China and fulfil the very ambitious sales and growth strategy for the market.

The products will be supplied by the Palsgaard factories in China, Denmark and Malaysia. In Shanghai Palsgaard has local storage, blending and packaging facilities.

Your Role

Reporting to the management in Denmark, it will be your job to manage the organisation, to identify potential distributors, negotiate agreements and to draft contracts with the right distributors for Palsgaard in China.

When contract signed it is your job to establish the partnership together with the distributor and to deepen the contact to the distributors, train their sales people in the Palsgaard products and to support them selling Palsgaard’s products in their region or industry.

It will also be your job to create more sales to new and existing customers together with your colleagues and the distributors.

It will be important to reach the very ambitious sales and growth targets.

To assist you supporting the distributors selling Palsgaard’s products to their customers in China you will have your very experienced local Application and Production team based in Shanghai as well as you will be able to draw upon the organisation at Palsgaard in Denmark and Singapore.

The job requires extensive travel activity within China.

General Manager

In addition to your primary role as sales director you will also be the General Manager of the local organisation in Shanghai and it will be your job to lead and motive the local sales, application and logistic team.

As General Manager you will have to deal with the administrative tasks needed to run a business in China. Your deputy in Shanghai, local partners or the HQ in Denmark will assist you as needed in this role.

Your Profile

We are looking for a General manager / Sales director who has experience in selling and distributing ingredients, raw material or semi-finished products to the food industry in China. You have either worked for a supplier outside China - like Palsgaard, a supplier in China or a distributor in China.

You speak Mandarin, have a European or American marketing education and have been working for a European or American company in China.

You live in Shanghai or you are willing to move to this area within reasonable time.

*Purpose: *

Lead the creation of a sustainability program for footwear material sourcing and manage the implementation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with SEA, lead the regional implementation of the adidas Group chemical management program for Footwear T2 suppliers to include:
Training to build suppliers’ capabilities on chemical management.
Manage the implementation of chemical management audit program with the Footwear T2 suppliers..
Lead the engagement with Footwear T2 suppliers to ensure disclosure of chemical usage and effluents
Baseline the current state of chemical usage in T2 suppliers, conduct risk assessments, and plan roadmap for adoption of preferred chemical formulations.
Act as the regional lead to work with Material Sourcing, HQ Material teams, and T2 suppliers on the development and adoption of alternative chemical formulations to comply with adidas Group chemical targets.
Lead the implementation of Bluesign®/Bluefinder for assessment of suppliers’ chemical formulations to facilitate adoption of preferred chemistry.
Work with material sourcing team to create and document a roadmap in each key material segment for the replacement of existing materials with Environmentally Preferred Materials (EPM).
Develop and present business cases for the conversion to EPMs where needed.
Drive implementation of Sustainable Material Tracking Tool (SMTT) with suppliers through the Material Sourcing team for materials where relevant.
Represent FW material sourcing for engagement with SEA, MDI, and Apparel/ A&G; teams to define sustainability requirements and align implementation plans.
Lead the outreach to Footwear T2 and T3 suppliers to educate them on the sustainability programs and adidas group requirements.
Maintain strong network of relationships with T2 and T3 suppliers, and industry organizations to build knowledge base for sustainability topics.
Support Sr. Director Material Sourcing to represent adidas Group in sustainability conferences and industry meetings as appropriate and necessary.
Continually develop a strong team and foster teamwork between internal and supplier teams.

Qualifications

Experience in initiating and managing external partner activity is essential and manufacturing experience is a plus. In addition to the above, the incumbent:

Language Directors are part of a community that creates an intensive four-week immersion program for middle and high school students each summer. Located on two campuses in Vermont, Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy: offers students the opportunity to study Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, or Spanish with skilled language educators. The Language Director is a senior administrator that works in close consultation with full-time MIL staff and Summer Site Manager to implement the Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum, guidelines, and policies. The Language Director leads a team of experienced educators and residential advisors to create a unique immersion academic program. The Language Director will report to the Director of Summer Academies in the pre-season and to the Summer Site Manager during the program.
At the Academy, students of five languages learn via a specially designed Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum. All instructional staff are required to participate in pre-season curriculum training to understand the educational mission and vision and to master and implement the immersion curriculum by adopting and practicing the Middlebury Immersion Methodology. All staff and students adopt the Middlebury Language Pledge™, modified as needed for the student age group and language level so that a full immersion environment is created.
The Language Director is responsible for coaching his/her team of teachers pre- and during-season to implement the Immersion Curriculum and to monitor both teacher and student performance. He/she is proactive and is able to solve problems professionally, with the goal of maintaining a successful summer academy. The Language Director ensures that their language team is following all Academy policies and guidelines.
The Language Director is responsible for all aspects of programming in his/her Academy. He/she works closely with MIL staff and staff on-site to create a comprehensive co-curricular experience for students and to ensure that staff and students are engaged and focused.

Required Experience:
RESPONSIBILITIES:Pre-Season Responsibilities:
Act as the master teacher to coach teachers on the Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum
Provide coaching to newly hired/returning teachers/ALD on the curriculum.
Monitor/ensure teacher’s/ALD’s completion of pre-season curriculum training sessions.
Ensure high-quality Cultural Exploration classes are developed.
Work with teachers and residential staff to create comprehensive co-curricular program.
Assist in interviewing
Provide timely interviews for language teachers and language checks for residential staff hiring utilizing methods and tools provided and working collaboratively with full-time staff.
Plan academy events
Coordinate all plans for academy field trips and guest performers aligning with budget.
Provide input to and oversight of residential staff in coordination of activity program.
Participate in planning orientation training sessions and delivering training in those sessions as appropriate.
Training
Attend one weekend in-person training session in Vermont: dates to be determined.

Program Administration Responsibilities:
Work in close cooperation with Assistant Language Director and other site administrators to ensure success of all aspects of the academy
Accept leadership position in addressing academic violations utilizing appropriate interventions and strategies in a timely and effective manner.
Communicate with parents concerning academic matters and Language Pledge violations.
Work in collaboration with site administrators to solve problems.

Provide hands-on coaching to teaching staff to implement the Immersion Curriculum
Demonstrate refined leadership and management skills in leading daily faculty meetings and planning sessions ensuring open and participative communication is consistently present in daily meetings and with other administrators.
Conduct frequent class observations and provide effective, meaningful feedback to faculty.

Solidify plans for and execute Academy events and co-curricular programming
Use excellent project management skills to plan for and execute Academy events and co-curricular programming.

Professional Responsibilities:
Participate in Academy programming.
Work to continually maintain a high-quality summer Academy through interaction, participation and visibility throughout the program.
Support the Language Pledge.
Communicate professionally and effectively to parents, students and other staff.
Provide meaningful feedback to students.
Work with other faculty, staff, and site administrators to create a successful Academy.
Complete evaluations, reports and other documentation in a timely manner.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
This is a residential position. All employees will be provided room and board. They will have two full days off during the 4-week session. All employees pay for their travel to and from program locations. Transportation from local airport and train station is provided at both the beginning and the end of the program by MIL. Housing is not provided for family members.

Preseason work is required for this position.

Education and Experience: Medical degree from qualified, recognized medical institution. US Board certification or equivalent required. Current licensure. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, the successful person is someone able to generate revenues from assigned accounts and source new accounts within the designated sales territory for the hotel and able to manage the relationship and interaction with all assigned clients and suppliers within the designated sales territory.


Areas of Responsibility:


- Develop and implement an annual sales plan for assigned account base and sales territory within People’s Republic of China


- Drive all potential revenue opportunities within the assigned territory to the hotels


- Monitor the performance of accounts to ensure that productivity meets hotel targets, identify changes in trends and provide follow up for shortfalls


- Develop and maintain a database of clients and communicate with this database as required on behalf of the brand and hotels


- Identify and target new business opportunities (prospects) on behalf of all the hotels


- Represent hotels at relevant trade shows and events as required


- Work with hotel teams to organise and participate in sales road shows and client events


- Manage the RFP/contracting process within the territory and negotiate inclusion of hotels in tenders and preferred agreements


- Liaise with hotel and global sales teams to maximise global account relationships and communicate leads and opportunities to hotels and other global sales team members


- Liaise with hotel directors of sales & marketing and general managers to identify needs, maximise business opportunities and provide feedback on accounts and the marketplace within the sales territory


- Conduct product presentations on behalf of all hotels


- Identify and evaluate new opportunities to drive revenues through suppliers


- Monitor market intelligence and communicate this to the relevant corporate and hotel teams


- Communicate updates, developments and changes within the group to clients


- Provide weekly activity reports, monthly group reports, RFP status reports and other reports as required


- Undertake any other duties or special assignment as required by the VP of Sales & Marketing


- Ensure all expenditure undertaken is in accordance with the budgets and approval processes


Requirements:


- Minimum seven years directly related experience in a luxury hotel / regional sales role


- Degree in business, communications or related field is an advantage


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.

Database


1. Build and maintain “ready to hire” database for external candidates and staff by


participating in recruitment road show/job fair and/or soliciting candidates’ profiles (resumes) via


referral, websites, competitors’ key position roaster and other appropriate channels.


2. Interview the candidates and recommend to the hotels as and when necessary or post it in the


database.


3. Update key position roster of the Competitors in designated region


Internal & External Recruitment Websites & social media


1. Manage the recruitment website.


2. Monitor and housekeeping external recruitment website.


3. Review of external recruitment websites including group contract for use in the region


4. Contribute to Corporate social media sources


Preferred Suppliers


1. Recommend and provide feedback on the Preferred Suppliers for designated region.


2. Liaise with the Preferred Suppliers for hotels and vice versa.


Succession Plan


1. Assist to identify candidates for the hotels’ Succession Plan, ensuring the availability of qualified


personnel to take over management positions in case of necessary staff movements


2. Coordinate vacancies with Succession Planning data


Internal Talent Pool


1. Maintain and update the database of the level 1 – 3 management staff in the region hotels


2. Work with corporate division heads to assess the candidate’s suitability for next level and future


developmental plans


3. Coordinate vacancies with Internal Talent Pool data


4. Develop and implement talent resourcing programs to build up key hotel functions talent pool, i.e.


competitor talent review, colleagues exposure program

We are working with a dynamic hospitality company who sells into hotels in a unique way. Due to their expansion, they are keen to recruit motivated, target driven, sales orientated people to up-sell with existing clients and develop new business.


The Business Development Director is responsible for executing all aspects of the Sales activities for the assigned geographical region.


This will include:

Experience/Qualities will include:


• DOS level experience in hotel or related industry


• Ideally hotel experience within five star hotels


• Good knowledge of sales, distribution channels, revenue and current market trends


• Strong relationship builder. Capable of relating well at all levels, including hotel reception/reservations staff, department heads, GM’s, and even CEO’s in some cases.


• Capable of developing own schedule based on company strategy.

About The Client

About The Role

• Directly report to VP- Hotel Operations and lead a team of 200

• Responsible for the administration, performance and results of all operational activity in the 2 operating Call Centres.

• Responsible for the management of all company issued mobiles and blackberry devices strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency provides supervision, direction & leadership to approximately 200 Suite Reservation & Priority Service team members, through the Departmental Managers

• Work with reservation managers to ensure the best possible call response time and conversion ratios through professionally managed

What We Are Looking For

• Extensive experience with proven success in large scale Call, Service Centre or related environment.

• Experience in a casino hotel operation would be considered beneficial but not essential

• Strong leadership and business sense

• Demonstrated experience in problem analysis and resolution at both an operational and strategic level

• Able to design and implement strategic solutions to improve Call centre efficiency
