Product Development Engineer, Flex - Consumer Applications - MiaSolé - United States
• Manage the technical development of consumer related PV products from critique of product requirements document through material selection, processing definition, and validation testing.
• Create and execute test plans that confirm the performance of PV products that are designed for consumer applications
• In a collaborative manner, define clear success criteria for individual projects while accounting for supporting resources and schedule.
• Organize, track, and drive to completion committed projects in conjunction with MiaSolé and Hanergy Consumer Group personnel.
• Flexible module performance characterization using IV, EL, IR, etc to understand design limits under different conditions and prepare for advancements with consumer and next generation products
• Establish and maintain excellent communication paths with the Consumer group via documents, conferencing, and face-to-face exchanges
• Prepare and deliver executive presentations to clearly describe technical status, risks, and mitigation strategies
Experience required:
• Minimum of 5 years in a technically related role, preferably in PV, semiconductor, or similar industry
• Minimum of 2 years in a Product or Project Management role is a plus.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of product design for PV or similar technologies, as well as understand the test cycles for products that have gone into production.
• Demonstrated history of leading multiple projects through the product development lifecycle
• Experience using a formal Product Development Process to define and then execute a new product introduction.
• Ability, knowledge, and experience to conduct relentless analysis leading to cost and value optimization
• Familiarity with materials used in the construction of PV modules. Background with thin-film technologies is a plus.
• Superior negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate requirements, costs, and timelines
• Experience working with Chinese partners and customers is a strong plus, as well as the ability to work with cohesively with remotely related groups.
• Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus
Education
BS in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or similar. Advanced Degree is preferred.
