Maine Vocational & Rehabilitation Associates is GROWING AGAIN! We are hiring people to work with consumers in our Daily Living Skills Support/Skills Development program. We have an immediate need for dedicated, experienced people to join our agency. This is an ideal opportunity for people who are studying Human Services, Mental Health and Human Services, Psychology, Rehabilitation Therapy, Social Sciences, and Special Education. Starting pay depends on education, experience and certifications.
This program provides therapeutic supports to assist adults who have difficulty integrating and accessing the community of their choice, as well as developing and maintaining daily living skills that help increase their independence. Hours of support vary from 2 to 24 hours per week and vary according to the needs of each individual consumer. Employees sometimes work with more than one consumer during the day/week and it is also possible to work additional hours in one of our other programs.
Some of the skills you’ll work with consumers on include:
Home maintenance
Finances & Meal planning
Using coping skills
Using public transportation
Accessing 12-Step programs
Encouraging good hygiene and healthy lifestyle choices
Participating in educational, vocational and social interests
Accessing community resources and increasing community integration
Medication management, mental health and medical appointment management and coordination
MVRA provides paid training for CPR/First Aid/BBP, CRMA, MHSS, Safety-Care, Mandated Reporting, Documentation, and others as needed. Benefits include clinical supervision, professional development planning, paid holidays, vacation, and mileage reimbursement.
