GSMA employee at GSMA / CHINAJOBHUNTER



The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing the GSMA’s relationships with Chinese operators and assisting the communication between GSMA, operators and key ecosystem players.

The GSMA’s desired outcome is to build long term relationships with key organisational decision makers building consensus around our entire agenda including the GSMA’s Vision 2020 programmes, Advocacy.


You will be expected to identify key stakeholders within the Chinese operator, build and maintain influential relationships, whilst supporting delivery of the GSMA’s primary objectives as well as facilitating the GSMA’s communication with operators.


The role will require internal coordination with the wider GSMA teams to ensure the proper operator engagement is taking place across all relevant GSMA activities.


The candidate will be based in Beijing working at home and can expect to travel up to 30% of the time.


Core Deliverables
· Build and manage impactful local industry executive relationships in the Great China region, focusing on the 3 Chinese operators. The primary focus will be the MNOs, secondarily you will need to focus on players in the wider ecosystem: vendors, regulators, Governments.
· Drive and facilitate the GSMA’s work and communication in key GSMA programmes with 3 Chinese operators as well as key ecosystem players on both working level and executive level.
· Develop and maintain an account plan for 3 Chinese MNO to assure alignment and collaboration between the GSMA and the MNO based on an in-depth understanding of the MNOs current business environment and their short and long term business objectives.
· Design and execute a strategy that will accelerate the engagement and development of assigned industry initiatives within China.
· Communicate the industry and GSMA’s short and long term priorities to internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives
· Represent the GSMA at leading international mobile events, including GSMA’s own Mobile World Congress and Mobile World Congress Shanghai as well as external events.
· Work with GSMA programme team to deliver the key events at Mobile World Congress Shanghai.
· Support the GSMA’s work in wider APAC region.
Ideal candidates for this role will have mix of skills and experience in account management, technology, communication and strategy:


· Relationship – you will be an excellent relationship builder with an eye for delivery of short and long term results. You should have a good track record of working with Chinese operators. Strong existing relationship with executives at General Manager, VP/SVP level is desired.
· Industry knowledge – you will have worked in the telecoms industry and have an extensive understanding of market trends, industry priorities and operational requirements for MNOs and the key ecosystem players. Also you should have good understanding of emerging services and trends in the market, including M2M, IP communication (VoLTE/RCS), mobile identity and mobile payment etc. In-depth knowledge on one or multiple areas mentioned above is desired.
· Self-starter – you will work remotely with minimal supervision and limited support. You will have a solid history of create new initiatives and take the leads on them.
· Team worker – you will a proactive team worker to work with and coordinate multi-functional team internally and drive the team to achieve its goals.
· Communication and presentation – you will have experience presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders gaining buy-in to your recommendations. You will also be a nature public speaker.
· Account Planning – You will have experience with the major account planning process, having developed and executed account plans successfully.
· Organisational decisions making – you will have a proven track record of navigating through complicated organization and facilitating consensus on strategic initiatives
· Language – you will be fluent in both Mandarin and English. You will have the experience and ability to work in an international environment. A previous experience working in the Europe company is desired.
