HIS Documentation Specialist - MaineGeneral Health - Augusta, ME

Maintains medical record integrity through the scanning, analyzing of electronic patient records, as well as the retrieval and maintenance of paper documentation. Processes records, scans loose documents, and assist other departments and health care providers with access and utilization of electronic and paper documentation. Maintains, secures and releases Health Information to internal and external requestors following various Federal and State of Maine Guidelines.

Qualifications/Competencies :
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred Up to 1 year preferred


Medical Terminology preferred, ability to sort things alphabetically/numerically; detail oriented Healthcare office experience with experience in Health Information preferred


Experience with electronic documentation systems and electronic data repositories preferred


Excellent and demonstrated customer service and communication skills, including telephone, written, and oral.


Familiarity with computerized medical information/patient registration systems and word processors preferred.


Excellent computer skills with proficiency with Windows preferred.
