Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Acting as the BU’s legal head there, you are expected to advise business on contract negotiations, legal risks and commercial terms and conditions to protect company’s interest. Overseeing contentious issues, instructing and liaising with external counsel when necessary, handle consumer, vendor or leasing related disputes and lawsuits together with external counsel. As Sr legal counsel, you need to work with other legal team and finance and audit functions to ensure company’s policies are implemented within China. You are supposed to be aware of regulatory matters and privacy issues by liaising with external advisers and regulatory bodies where necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience:

To consider this role, you should have a law degree with at least 8 yrs experience in major law firm or foreign invested company in-house legal function in China, at least 1-2 years experiences in the field of Intellectual Property. As a sole legal for this BU, you should have the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, be able to work independently and have ability to work under pressure and to cope with tight deadlines. China Bar and good English is a must for this role.
