Upper Primary EAL teacher - Beijing - August 2016
Beijing is a fascinating place and one of history’s great cities! It is known for its modern architecture and ancient sites. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and draws in people each year who come to view the finest remnants of China’s imperial past, such as the grand Forbidden City and many sublime temples. The food is a feast for sore eyes, including specialities such as Mongolian lamb, Sichuan-style chilli-spiked crayfish and flaky flatbreads with sweet wafts of fried spring onions which can be cooked before you! Beijing is a bustling city with more than 13 million people on an area of 16,800 sq. km – the size of Belgium. Beijing seasons are clearly marked by changes in weather and temperatures and surprising splashes of colours.
