Qingdao is a major seaport in Shandong province looking out over the Yellow Sea, an hour’s flight time from Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul. It has a rich heritage and a good climate. It is one of the most affluent and fastest growing cities in China and in 2009 was voted most liveable in China.

Role: My client is currently looking for a Biology teacher to commence in August 2016.

School Vision/Ethos: Students at this school are highly motivated and high achieving, aspiring to go to the best universities around the world. They are looking for dedicated, outstanding, qualified graduate teachers who want to help students learn rather than control to join their hard-working, highly professional team and play a significant role in the pastoral and extracurricular life of this boarding school. The student body is mainly Chinese nationals who will attend the best universities in the UK, US and elsewhere. Their academic results are outstanding, for instance 61% A*/A Chemistry at A Level and 36% A*/A Physics at A Level last year. 25% of their students received Cambridge University interviews this year. Requirements: Applicants must have 2 years of experience, the school prefers teachers with GCSE/A Level experience but IB experience is welcomed also. Teachers with other (e.g. US / AP / Australian and NZ) experience is also fine.

Package: The school give an annual flight home, 13th month salary for completion of contracts, and international medical cover. Salary varies on experience, with a teacher having 6-10 years of experience earning around £2,290 – £2,630 gross per month and it includes an accommodation allowance; an initial two year contract and initial baggage allowance.
