This position will support instruction in the math curriculum at Unity College during the fall 2015 academic semester. Teaching includes up to 12 credits of a combination of Intermediate Algebra, Precalculus and Elementary Statistics. Other duties include advising and faculty service as needed. This person will support the delivery of the quantitative-literacy curriculum, plus support and mentor students both in and outside the classroom.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


? Deliver Elementary Statistics and various Algebra courses as assigned.


? Meet with students in an informal and formal advising capacity.


? Contribute to faculty service needs as assigned.


? Serve on campus committees as appropriate given position responsibilities.


? Contribute to the college’s commitment to sustainability.


? Contribute to the college’s commitment to safety by using safe work habits, using ergonomics and proper lifting, and follow biohazard protocol as appropriate.


? Assume responsibility to maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills with regulations. industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws.

? Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to customer service and quality education.


? Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree and teaching experience preferred, but a Bachelor’s degree and experience will be considered.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong oral and written communication skills, including facility with technical terminology appropriate to the position.


COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs. Ability to use the internet and email.
