This position will support instruction in the writing curriculum at Unity College during the fall 2015 academic semester. Teaching includes 12 course credits of a combination of Composition and Communication I and Composition and Communication II and other classes and as needed and 3 writing studios. Other duties include advising and faculty service as needed. This person will support the delivery of writing and oral communication instruction, and support and mentor students both in and outside the classroom.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Deliver Composition and Communication I and Composition and Communication II courses as assigned


• Meet with students in an informal and formal advising capacity


• Contribute to faculty service needs as assigned


• Serve on campus committees as appropriate given position responsibilities


• Contribute to the college’s commitment to sustainability


• Contribute to the college’s commitment to safety by using safe work habits, using ergonomics and proper lifting, and follow biohazard protocol as appropriate


• Assume responsibility to maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills with regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws

• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree and teaching experience preferred, but a Bachelor’s degree and experience will be considered.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong oral and written communication skills, including facility with technical terminology appropriate to the position.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs. Ability to use the internet and email.
