Location: Unity, ME Category: Clerical Posted On: Mon Sep 14 2015 Job Description: Responsible for creating a positive, customer service-oriented image for the Health Center in the performance of front-office receptionist, administrative and clerical duties for the health care team. Performs a variety of office support, much of which is confidential or sensitive in nature, necessitating mature judgment. Provides a wide range of information services for all campus constituencies, families, and the general public, with primary focus on currently enrolled student needs. Specific duties include: greet and welcome students and other visitors; telephone; scheduling and confirming appointments for health care providers; mail duties; photocopier; receive and distribute faxes; maintain accurate office files and medical records; word processing/typing; order, receive, inventory and distribute office and medical supplies; assist with new student orientation health check-in logistics and the promotion of campus wellness programs; maintain updated information for web pages; train and provide direction and guidance to student workers Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Business/trade school graduate preferred. At least 1-3 years of job-related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of a medical terminology course and/or some work experience in a health care setting is desirable. Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to conduct duties in a pleasant, discreet, confidential and professional manner; ability and willingness to work with students from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities; working knowledge of office operations, filing and clerical support; excellent organizational skills; good spelling, grammar, and written communication skills; knowledge of spreadsheet, databases, and word processing using MS Windows software; internet skills; familiarity with webpage design or willingness to learn.
