At Baidu Development Center, we are looking for students to help us shape the next generation of Baidu’s server hardware and data centers in China and all over the world. We are looking for graduate or undergraduate students majoring in areas such as Mechanical, Electrical Engineer, CS, Physics and so on with ability to work on variety of interesting hardware and software projects related to our existing as well as our future server hardware and data center projects.

As the Hardware and Data Center intern, we are looking for talented and energetic student interns eager to team up and help our engineers in validating and troubleshooting of the existing hardware as well as prototyping, modeling, building, testing and deploying future server and data center hardware. You will work with the lead engineers in early stages of project and product definition, EVT/DVT/PVT qualifications, reliability analysis and data center deployment.

Responsibilities:
Work with a talented group of engineers and scientists to understand Baidu’s server and data center infrastructureUnder the guidance of the lead engineers, develop and execute hardware tests plans, troubleshoot and optimize for performance & utilizationWork with various hardware and data center teams in China for reliability study, debug and finding quick fixes to hardware issuesCreate automated tests by writing machine scripts for remotely communicating with tests equipment and the hardware units under test.Qualifications:
Ability to work with various electrical, mechanical, electronic & thermal lab test equipment.Familiar with Linux, python and basic machine programing language.Experience with failure analysis troubleshooting skills, ability to solve problemsSuperior oral and written communication skills. Good analytical and logical skills and eyes of detail, assess risk thoroughly and provide feasible solutions.Preferred Abilities:
Pursing a MS or Doctoral degree in ME/EE/Physics or related technical fieldsAbility to use mechanical/thermal CAD tools is a major plus.Ability to stay beyond the summer period is preferred.

Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy’s International Academies are planned in partnership with highly respected study abroad organizations. These strategic partnerships enable the International Academies to deliver Middlebury College’s renowned immersion curriculum in a safe, fun, and enriching environment. All instructional staff are required to participate in pre-season curriculum training to understand the Academy’s educational mission and vision and to master and implement the immersion curriculum by adopting and practicing the Middlebury Immersion Methodology. All staff and students adopt the Middlebury Language Pledge™, modified as needed for the student age group and language level so that a full immersion environment is created.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and Prepare Responsibilities:
Participate in pre-season curriculum training led by the Program Director. Plan daily classes following the guidelines stipulated in the Academy Immersion Curriculum by working with the Program Director and fellow peers. Sometimes, team teaching is required.
Instruct and Support Student Engagement in Learning Responsibilities:
Implement the Academy Immersion Curriculum in daily language classes. Participate in experiential learning programming outside of the classroom. Teach effective, engaging classes and co-curricular activities in the target language Create a positive and safe community for learning. Create level appropriate lesson plan with clear objectives and implement it via a student-centered way. Include authentic materials in teaching and design effective authentic materials in teaching and design effective authentic material activities for learning. Include form-based inductive grammar learning activities in the classroom.
Reflect and Adjust Responsibilities:
Allow class observations and participate in coaching sessions conducted by the Program Director. Maintain an open-minded and positive attitude towards Program Director’s hands-on coaching and make instructional adjustments as needed to ensure classes are delivered via the Middlebury Immersion Methodology.
Professional Responsibilities:
Participate in Academy programming. Work to continually maintain a high-quality summer Academy through interaction, participation and visibility throughout the program. Support the Language Pledge. Communicate professionally and effectively to parents, students and other staff. Provide meaningful feedback to students. Work with other faculty, staff, and site administrators to create a successful Academy. Complete evaluations, reports and other documentation in a timely manner. Maintain comprehensive knowledge and utilization of the Academy policies and procedures to create a safe, supportive, rewarding environment for students and staff. Experience and Skills: Minimum Qualifications:
Current language educators Some K-16 teaching experience is required Several years of WL teaching experience at the secondary level is strongly preferred Native or near-native mastery of the target language and culture Additional Qualifications:
Formal training in second language acquisition, and/or world language pedagogy strongly preferred Ability to work as a team and maintain open-minded and positive attitude Ability to handle difficult moments/situations with patience and professionalism at all times Demonstrated interest in professional development.

Language Directors are part of a community that creates an intensive four-week immersion program for middle and high school students each summer. Located on two campuses in Vermont, Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy: offers students the opportunity to study Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, or Spanish with skilled language educators. The Language Director is a senior administrator that works in close consultation with full-time MIL staff and Summer Site Manager to implement the Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum, guidelines, and policies. The Language Director leads a team of experienced educators and residential advisors to create a unique immersion academic program. The Language Director will report to the Director of Summer Academies in the pre-season and to the Summer Site Manager during the program.
At the Academy, students of five languages learn via a specially designed Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum. All instructional staff are required to participate in pre-season curriculum training to understand the educational mission and vision and to master and implement the immersion curriculum by adopting and practicing the Middlebury Immersion Methodology. All staff and students adopt the Middlebury Language Pledge™, modified as needed for the student age group and language level so that a full immersion environment is created.
The Language Director is responsible for coaching his/her team of teachers pre- and during-season to implement the Immersion Curriculum and to monitor both teacher and student performance. He/she is proactive and is able to solve problems professionally, with the goal of maintaining a successful summer academy. The Language Director ensures that their language team is following all Academy policies and guidelines.
The Language Director is responsible for all aspects of programming in his/her Academy. He/she works closely with MIL staff and staff on-site to create a comprehensive co-curricular experience for students and to ensure that staff and students are engaged and focused.

Required Experience:
RESPONSIBILITIES:Pre-Season Responsibilities:
Act as the master teacher to coach teachers on the Summer Residential Academy Immersion Curriculum
Provide coaching to newly hired/returning teachers/ALD on the curriculum.
Monitor/ensure teacher’s/ALD’s completion of pre-season curriculum training sessions.
Ensure high-quality Cultural Exploration classes are developed.
Work with teachers and residential staff to create comprehensive co-curricular program.
Assist in interviewing
Provide timely interviews for language teachers and language checks for residential staff hiring utilizing methods and tools provided and working collaboratively with full-time staff.
Plan academy events
Coordinate all plans for academy field trips and guest performers aligning with budget.
Provide input to and oversight of residential staff in coordination of activity program.
Participate in planning orientation training sessions and delivering training in those sessions as appropriate.
Training
Attend one weekend in-person training session in Vermont: dates to be determined.

Program Administration Responsibilities:
Work in close cooperation with Assistant Language Director and other site administrators to ensure success of all aspects of the academy
Accept leadership position in addressing academic violations utilizing appropriate interventions and strategies in a timely and effective manner.
Communicate with parents concerning academic matters and Language Pledge violations.
Work in collaboration with site administrators to solve problems.

Provide hands-on coaching to teaching staff to implement the Immersion Curriculum
Demonstrate refined leadership and management skills in leading daily faculty meetings and planning sessions ensuring open and participative communication is consistently present in daily meetings and with other administrators.
Conduct frequent class observations and provide effective, meaningful feedback to faculty.

Solidify plans for and execute Academy events and co-curricular programming
Use excellent project management skills to plan for and execute Academy events and co-curricular programming.
