Qualifications: OQMHP or MHRT1 certification required. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or Rehabilitation Services preferred.
Direct Supervisor: Residential Team Leader
Job Responsibilities: The Residential Counselor (RC) is responsible for the care, supervision, and psychosocial education as indicated in the resident’s Treatment Plan. This position delivers direct services to the residents and includes, but is not limited to:
Ensuring the safety of residents, community and property through focused supervision of the residents’ activities and behaviors.
Ensuring basic care needs are met, including regular meals, hygiene practices, recreation and social activities.
Engaging in healthy, supportive, professional interpersonal relationships that meet the goals of the residents’ Treatment Plan.
Implementation and supervision of the Behavior Management System in accordance with the program’s policies and procedures.
Observe and document resident’s progress and behavior, maintain daily logs, according to the program’s policies and procedures including reports to the Treatment Team.
Consult with the Team Leader about issues regarding resident care or safety when a question arises.
Managing your own emotions to insure that the residents are spoken to and treated in a respectful manner at all times.
Report and document any concerns about a resident’s treatment by other residents or staff immediately to the Team Leader and/or Clinician.
Maintain complete confidentiality concerning Becket program residents.
Participate in the required training, treatment team meetings and supervision.
Insure that your personnel record is up to date and meets program standards and maintain certifications (i.e.: TCI, CPR/1st Aid, CRMA etc.).
For medication certified RC: Follow and adhere to all medication administration policies and procedures.
Complete all daily checklists and work assignments on every shift.
Any other duties as assigned by the Residential Team Leader, Executive or Clinical Director(s).
