REI has a great opportunity for a HR Business Partner to work with our Private Brands team based in our Shenzhen, China office.
Working with general guidance from the HR leadership team located at REI’s Corporate Headquarters in Kent, WA, the HR Business Partner will act as an in-country liaison to provide generalist human resources support and services to REI leaders and employees in our Shenzhen, China office. This position will provide support services in the areas of recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, benefits, and administration. This position will directly support leaders to ensure adherence to local and national employment laws/legislation and will execute all corporate HR initiatives for the Shenzhen office. Travel to the United States will also be required.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as primary point of contact for leaders and subject matter expert on resolving employee issues and mitigate company risk by pro-actively identifying and documenting trends, providing solutions using consistent methods and sound judgment and conducting thorough, objective investigations
Facilitate change management support demonstrating flexibility and agility to support an increasingly complex and rapidly changing environment
Assess and diagnose root causes of people-related challenges, track trends and share with partners in HR in order to provide solutions
Facilitate all in-country new hire processes including new hire paperwork, Employee Onboarding
Provide consultation to leaders on organizational design and structure changes; support implementation of changes
Partner with leaders to assess and identify development needs and gaps and in partnership with HR center of expertise, provide appropriate solutions
Build and continually evolve business acumen in the retail and manufacturing field through both internal and external partnerships as well as HR expertise
Assess and analyze employee survey results; partner with leaders to drive engagement and effective employment practices
Implement rollouts of HR strategy/initiatives and advocate for HR programs
Support talent management, succession planning, training and development.
Administer HR Records and Payroll
Implement and improve Compensation & Benefits policies and procedures, in order to ensure fairness and competitiveness
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources (3+ as HR Generalist)
- Proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English
- Proven consulting skills that link performance to business goals
- Experience with organizational change management practices
- General knowledge of all HR competencies: organizational design, performance management, leadership development, employee practices, compensation, benefits & rewards
- Proven ability to assess, analyze and communicate client group needs; collaborate with HR centers of expertise to identify and effectively integrate solutions that deliver the desired results
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and risk management
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to travel to the United States 2 – 3 times annually.
