Assist and counsels patients and families with health related financial, social and emotional concerns according to the physician’s orders under the direction and supervision of a Master’s level Medical Social Worker.

Qualifications

1. Meets state and federal requirements for this position.

2. Has a baccalaureate degree in social work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; or a baccalaureate degree in psychology, sociology, or other field related to social work and is supervised by an MSW as described in paragraph (b)(3)(i)(A) section of Hospice COP for social worker.

3. Has one year of social work experience in a health care setting.

4. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.
