Specialist, Import & Domestic Procurement, China Plant job - MicroVention, Inc. - China, ME



This position is responsible for the importing/exporting process, logistics, local sourcing and procurement. 1. Operates as the liaison for establishing and/or maintaining adequate public relations with government agencies, relative to import/export-related affairs 2. Ensures that procedures and business processes are in compliance with up-to-date government policies 3. Develops and updates the import/export process, logistics practices, performs standard audits and provides routine communication with government authorities 4. Leads and manages the entire import/export process, logistics and shipping/receiving activity 5. Manages contracted Customs Brokers to complete the customs clearance process efficiently 6. Prepares, maintains and updates the inbound Customs Book to support operations and reviews the accuracy of Customs documentation 7. Collaborates with additional company facilities, international and local suppliers, customers and forwarders to manage incoming and outgoing cargo 8. Reduces the turn-around time and creates a Slot Plan for the Warehouse 9. Educates the Warehouse, Production, Finance and Quality staff regarding Customs policies to ensure efficient collaboration within the facility 10. Identifies improvement opportunities for the import/export process and logistics operations to improve efficiency, reduce cost and manage risks 11. Communicates with internal and external customers with respect to logistic challenges 12. Sources local suppliers to support localization for future production demand and price negotiation for cost control supporting a healthy financial status 13. Purchases raw materials, measures equipment and ensures safety measures are in place 14. Ensures services and processes are established to support production planning and plant operation 15. Controls the materials inventory and secures supply in conjunction with related departments 16. Addresses supplier non-conformities and provides timely feedback 17. Develops a Supply Chain Evaluation System and tracks/improves supply chain performance 18. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications


  • Knowledge of

    Customs policies and practices with the ability to build a successful and professional relationship

  • Expertise in the

    import/export process and logistics required

  • Customs Declaration Certification preferred

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in Quality

    ,

    Production

    and Finance

  • Fluent in English (written, verbal and reading skills)

  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, statistical software and SolidWorks

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience with importing and exporting, verifiable expertise interacting with Customs

  • Familiarity with logistics legal requirements and two years of purchasing experience in the medical packaging industry preferred

  • Excellent communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills
