Claim Resolution Associate job - athenahealth - Belfast, ME





The Claim Resolution Associate will be responsible for managing a broad array of projects related to the claim resolution team, including the payer tracking clustering project(s), website access projects, claim status inquiry integration, and phone call reduction initiatives. This position will work with multiple vendors in daily communications, and will assist with piloting and training of current/future vendors. Other projects may include the development and support of improved technologies, streamlined workflows, and reporting metrics. The Claim Resolution Associate will report directly to the Manager, Claim Resolution.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Independently develop and execute project plans related to department goals;Document business requirements for key workflows and process points;Support the design, implementation and management of workflows to facilitate claim resolution and improve quality;Support an environment of accountability and management against goals;Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop creative solutions to complex claim resolution issues;Research, identify and isolate issues through data extraction, manipulation, and analysis;Design and implement new analytic methodologies and problem solving workflows;Review claim notes and audit histories, conduct supplemental research and analysis, and process large amounts of information in order to take appropriate next actions on claims;Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training tools and operational workflows;Develop and maintain productivity and process impact reporting;Identify payer trends;Identify, recommend and enact opportunities for learning and teaching within the department;Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Claim Resolution.QualificationsAt least 3-5 years of work experience;Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;Demonstrated capability to problem solve and develop process within the specific context of athenaNet’s payer resolution guides;Strong communication skills and an ability to effectively engage and work with members of internal and offshore teams as well as payor representatives;Demonstrated ability to perform work of analytical, detailed, and logical nature;Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;Talent for tackling problems from identification through resolution;Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;High degree of comfort with the Internet and MS Office environments and the ability and desire to advance technically;Organization;Obsessive attention to detail;Drive;Comfortable working in a professional, diverse corporate setting;athenahealth, Inc. is a leading provider of web-based business services for medical groups. athenahealth’s service offerings are based on proprietary web-native practice management and electronic health record (EHR) software, a continuously updated payer knowledge-base, integrated back-office service operations, and automated and live patient communication services.
