We are looking for a Head of Global Languages teacher to work in a prestigious top tier school based in Shanghai, China. The post would suit an existing, experienced Modern Foreign Languages Teacher (MFL) or head of MFL Department. The position is based in a UK curriculum school therefore applications will only be considered from teachers who possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Post are offered on a 2 year renewable contract basis.

Candidate Requirements

The successful Head of Languages Department Teacher, must meet the following criteria:

• Must have significant experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.


• A minimum of 2 year’s experience of teaching at Post-16 level is essential and experience of the IB Diploma Programme is highly desirable.


• Significant successful team leadership experience is essential for this post and experience of working with and developing non-UK trained teachers of foreign languages would be highly advantageous.


• MUST be a qualified teacher with a recognised teaching qualification and be able to deliver good to outstanding lessons


• Have a positive can do attitude with lots of enthusiasm


• Have a drive to succeed
