Principal – China


The Western Co-Principal will work with the Chinese Co-Principal to oversee all functions of the School and to ensure provision of quality education to students in accordance with the Foundation’s objectives.


Key Responsibilities


  • To be the instructional leader of the school and ensure quality teaching and learning that enables the attainment of high academic standards;

  • To be an outstanding communicator, collaborator, and team builder across all stakeholder groups;

  • To monitor curriculum development, reflect the Foundation’s philosophy, and work towards attainment of the Foundation’s educational goals and policies;

  • To cultivate a caring and respectful ethos among staff, students and parents; and be responsible for the student code of conduct.

  • To lead the school forward as a professional learning community; and remain abreast of current innovation, research and best practices pertaining to learning, teaching, leadership and organizational culture;

  • To maintain responsible oversight of effective planning mechanisms: short, medium and long term.

Requirements


  • Master Degree preferably in School Administration;

  • Principal credential/license/certification; or equivalent.

  • Over 10 years teaching experience; at least five years as a school administrator;

  • Supportive of the Foundation’s Philosophy & Objectives;

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;

  • Experience working at the ES, MS and HS levels of education; knowledge of IB;

  • History of sound administrative and academic leadership; can direct and coordinate all school operations, activities and strategic planning; oversee and manage the school budget; supervise, mentor, evaluate faculty and staff; and bring sound research-based instructional practices to the school.
