Duties: Teach Chinese language courses, beginner through advanced, organize extracurricular functions, and aid in the training of teaching assistants. Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records. Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign (and supervise) this work to others. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Assist Chinese Language Program Coordinator in developing Chinese Language Program curriculum. Collaborate with department faculty on linguistic and pedagogic research. Contribute, as needed, with the growth and development of the Ohio University Chinese Program. Minimum Qualifications
Requirements: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, Chinese language pedagogy, second language acquisition, or Chinese linguistics; and fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
