Graduate TEFL Teacher

Hanghzou
Timetable: 15 – 20 hours teaching time a week
Contract: 2 years
Start: September 2016
Benefits: free accommodation, free health insurance, free TEFL training, flight reimbursement + £700-900 monthly salary

Are you a recent or soon-to-be graduate with English as your first language? Are you looking to live and work in a different culture whilst earning money and gaining a prestigious qualification? Then this opportunity could be of interest to you.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for bright, articulate graduates with excellent written and verbal English skills to work in China. The majority of our clients are based around Hanghzou city in the Zhejiang province. We also deal with schools elsewhere in the province as well as Chengdu in Western China. Hanghzou is a large, young, clean and vibrant city of 8 million people just 1 hour south of Shanghai. There is a large ex-pat community and excellent nightlife. Chengdu is China’s fifth largest city and the capital of the Sichuan province with a population of 14 million. The monthly salary of £700-900 will provide you with plenty of disposable income on top of your accommodation and health insurance.

Please note: you do not need any knowledge of the Chinese language. Any knowledge would be desirable, but is not essential

What will you be doing?

You will teach English as a Second Language to classes of 30 – 45 in Chinese public schools. Your job will be funded by the Chinese government. You will teach 15 – 20 hours a week. We have vacancies with primary schools (aged 6- 12) , secondary schools (aged 12 – 16) and further education colleges (aged 16 – 20). Obviously, the level of the children’s English varies depending on how old they are. The organisation can train you towards your TEFL qualification. This will be an intensive course prior to you starting in the school. You will be fully accredited as a TEFL teacher and will then be able to use this certificate worldwide. Graduates will need to pay around £500 up front for this qualification. £200 will be automatically reimbursed when you complete the training after one week, and £300 reimbursed when you finish the contract. Graduates are asked to commit to a two year contract, though can change schools within China if they wish. You can leave prior to the two year contract ending, but will not get your £300 back.

We need people available to start in September 2016. 2016 graduates can be accepted. Candidates will need to pay for their own flights out to China, which will be reimbursed

Offers will only be made to those with satisfactory references, valid qualifications and clean DBS checks

Skype Interviews will take place as soon as possible for relevant candidates
