Primary EAL teachers - Beijing - August 2016

Beijing is a fascinating place and one of history’s great cities! It is known for its modern architecture and ancient sites. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and draws in people each year who come to view the finest remnants of China’s imperial past, such as the grand Forbidden City and many sublime temples. The food is a feast for sore eyes, including specialities such as Mongolian lamb, Sichuan-style chilli-spiked crayfish and flaky flatbreads with sweet wafts of fried spring onions which can be cooked before you! Beijing is a bustling city with more than 13 million people on an area of 16,800 sq. km – the size of Belgium. The Beijing Municipality is flat and has a very orderly design – north, south, east and west circumnavigated by six concentric ring roads. The Beijing seasons are clearly marked by changes in weather and temperatures, and surprising splashes of colours.

My client is looking for a Primary EAL teacher for an August 2016 start. This excellent schools group with campuses in various parts of China and Hong Kong and founded in 1932 have recently used their expertise to set up new schools for Chinese Nationals to enjoy the same excellent international education opportunities.

This school opens in 2016 to much fanfare looking to increase its student numbers rapidly with this groups solid reputation. The schools are committed to educate the whole person from infancy through secondary education. They strive to unite the best elements of Eastern and Western traditions and practices, the growth of the individual and the inquiring mind as well as develop a sense of personal responsibility and social welfare of all. With excellent facilities across all campuses, these schools employ a bilingual philosophy, exemplified by engaging a co teaching with a Chinese and western teacher team teaching.

Job requirements:

  • You should be a qualified teacher with a minimum of two years post qualifying experience in order to teach in Beijing.

  • You will be focussing on EAL teaching with the Primary level students and prior experience is essential.

  • An EAL qualification will support your application.

  • You should have an inquiry based approach to your teaching and an ability to work well within a variety of cultures.

  • As this is a start-up school situation you will need to be adaptable and flexible and have a positive approach to life, willing to contribute to the continuing development of this great school.

Package:

Salary up to £35,000 minimum per annum depending on qualifications and experience; flights, furnished housing and medical cover included.

Interviews will be via Skype. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, do not hesitate to apply!

Physics teachers - Nanjing, China - August 2016

Nanjing in China is the capital of China’s eastern Jiangsu province and was the national capital during the Ming dynasty and in the 20th century. Sites to see include The Ming City Wall, surrounding Nanjng and is one of the city’s most remarkable features. In addition the stunning 472 hectare natural reserve, Xuanwu Lake Park, is great to be able to see the ancient architecture and contrasting skyscrapers. By Xinjiekou, there are many places to eat and listen to music – the perfect way to unwind after a busy week of teaching!

My client is looking for Physics teachers to commence in August 2016.

This large Education Group partners with 26 government high schools throughout China, delivering A-levels, the IB Diploma Programme or Advanced Placement courses to over 6,700 students. Each school has a unique history and culture, yet common themes emerge across all of them: high standards, committed and polite students and a belief in the all-round development of young people. One of the key aims within each school is to adequately prepare students for successful university careers and for life overseas, developed through a modern, western-style of teaching that encourages critical thinking, debate and application of learning. Joining this school group will offer educators a unique opportunity to teach high ability Chinese students so teachers who really enjoy the depth of subject teaching required at A Level, IBDP or AP Level will find this experience incredibly fulfilling.

Requirements:

Applications from fully qualified teachers with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience. Applicants will have prior experience in either IB, AP or A-Levels but the most essential requirement is the ability to teach high achieving students at the senior high school level. Applicants must have a passion for their subject and the ability to teach exceptionally academically able and motivated students. Experience of working with ESL students will be advantageous.

Benefits:

  • Salary ranging from RMB 15,000 – 27,500 per month as well as contract completion bonus of around RMB 20,000/year.

  • Flight allowance of around RMB 12,000/year.

  • Housing allowance depending on the location.

  • Medical insurance.

  • Paid winter and summer vacation (at least 9 weeks in total).

Interviews will be via Skype. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, do not hesitate to apply!
