POSITION TITLE: Administrative Specialist II (30-hrs/week)
INSTITUTION: Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) is a 2-year comprehensive community college in the
center of Maine serving approximately 2400 students from Somerset, Kennebec, and Knox counties and well beyond. In
2014, KVCC expanded its Fairfield-based operation to include a new 600-acre Harold Alfond Campus in Hinckley, Maine.

SALARY: Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College
System Trustees Support Services Bargaining Unit and the Maine State Employees Association, Range 8 ($12.25
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant must have a High School diploma/GED and a two year
combination of clerical training, education, and/or work experience. Knowledge of modern office practices,
procedures and equipment are required along with excellent organizational, communication, and customer service
and public relations skills. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate outstanding attention to accuracy
and detail and an ability to use time management skills, independent judgment, initiative, discretion, and problem
solving when appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Administrative Specialist will work with the KVCC Foundation and Resource
Development Office and will assist with fundraising efforts, grants, communications, special events, and
volunteer activities. Duties will include composition and preparation of correspondences, scheduling meetings,
preparing agendas, timely dissemination of meeting materials, transcription of minutes, and coordination of
meeting location, time, and equipment. The Administrative Specialist will respond to donor, alumni, and visitor
needs in a timely and respectful manner, serve as an intermediary with public and private officials requiring tact
and cooperation, establish and maintain accurate constituent and fundraising databases and reports including
Excel spreadsheets, and will assist with development and coordination of special events and fundraisers for the
KVCC Foundation and Alumni Council. Duties will include the use of internet and other resources to assist in the
identification of funding support.
