Woodfords Family Services In-Home Support Program is seeking an energetic, positive person to join them as a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP). The BHP position involves providing one-on-one support to children with a diagnosis of Autism and/or other Intellectual Disabilities in their home. We are expanding our In-Home Support Program and want you to join us. Opportunities await you in the following listed location:


Waterville: Services are needed for a 10 year old male. Schedule and hours are yet to be determined


DUTIES


Attendance:
Regular employee attendance and punctuality, to work, meetings and training are essential to the smooth operation of Woodfords Family Services.As a general rule, employees are expected to be in attendance on their scheduled workdays.Poor attendance and tardiness will result in discipline, up to and including termination of employment.


Essential Duties:
1. Complies with all rules, regulations and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Program procedure manual, and in regard to safety.

2. Conduct self in a consumer-friendly manner at all times. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality consistent with the protection of children and adult human rights.


3. Must complete training and obtain certification as Behavioral Health Professional within 1 year of hire.


4. Must complete Safety Care training within 90 days of hire.


5. Complete all programmatic and agency training requirements within established timeframes.


6. Meet with assigned Field Supervisor a minimum of one hour per month (pro-rated) for supervision, in accordance with DHHS regulations and agency policy.


7. Attend all mandatory meetings and training as scheduled.


Responsibilities:
Work with the individual and the support community to implement developed goals and objectives that will allow independent growth and development.


Function as part of a treatment team focused on the needs of the individual.


Provide hands-on, one-on-one support to the individual in the areas of daily living, social interaction, behavior management and communication following established treatment plan.


Manage a variety of moderate to severe disruptive behaviors exhibited in individual or group settings, including adjustment reactions to new or changing environments.


Complete and provide work schedules, summaries of progress on goals and objectives, and other required paperwork to assigned Field Supervisor on a bi-weekly basis.


Maintain reliable communication with the Field Supervisor, to include: timely responses to phone calls and emails, and prompt notification of scheduling changes.


Document data according to MaineCare and programmatic guidelines (COA).


Seek professional growth through reading, attending workshops, seminars, conferences and/or advanced course work. Keep required certifications current.


Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift 50lbs. with good body mechanic.


2. Must be able to complete all aspects of Safety Care training, including the use of physical restraints.


3. Must possess the mental, physical and emotional health to carry out the position for the Department of Family Support Services.


QUALIFICATIONS


Acceptable candidates must have a valid Maine Driver’s License, have the use of a reliable vehicle and the ability to be flexible. Experience working with autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities is helpful, but not necessary. We will train and certify you as a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP).


Candidates must possess at a minimum, a GED or high-school diploma.
