Driver, Goods/Materials job - Sodexo Inc. - Waterville, ME



Description/Job Summary

Drive cars, vans, or trucks to transport goods and equipment to and from assigned destinations according to schedule. Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions. Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures when driving vehicles. Report traffic violations or accidents. Maintain a drivers log to keep trip information such as name, date, mileage, time and place of pickup and drop-off, and total fee. Inspect, test, and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure proper operation. Report any vehicle mechanical problems or maintenance needs. Load and unload goods and equipment onto and off cars, vans, or trucks. Park vehicle in designated location and secure keys when not in use.

Follow all company policies and procedures (e.g., safety and security); ensure uniform/dress code and personal appearance are clean and professional; support workplace diversity initiatives. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions. Report work related accidents. Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards and work with customers to ensure satisfaction.

  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.

  • Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
