Maintenance Mechanic I - Waterville Housing Authority - Waterville, ME

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of general maintenance and repair work on the buildings, grounds, and equipment owned and managed by Waterville Housing Authority.

• Performs building maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and painting work.


• Prepares vacant units for renting: cleans, paints, makes repairs.


• Shovels snow and removes ice from walkways and sidewalks, may operate a snow blower and/or a snow plow for snow removal.


• Performs landscaping duties including mowing lawns, trimming bushes and planting flowers and shrubs.


• Removes rubbish and performs general cleaning and sanitation of common areas.


• Responds to tenant inquiries and requests and is on-call for a week at a time on a rotating basis with other staff members.
