Research Investigator
Job Description China Novartis Institute for BioMedical Research in Shanghai is focused on discovering novel therapeutic drugs against diseases prevalent to China and understanding epigenetic causes of diseases. We utilize RNAi screening technology to look for novel therapeutic targets and to study mechanisms of new drugs. We are seeking an expert who is familiar with various genetic screening technology, including siRNA, shRNA and CRISPR. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the genetic screening platform to support our drug discovery effort. The successful candidate will work closely with other project groups to apply RNAi screening technology to a variety of cellular and in vivo systems. He/She will design experiments, develop novel protocols, and interpret datasets with bioinformatics scientists and biologists. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment. Minimum requirements • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or related fields with minimum 5 years of related research experience. • Postdoc experience and strong publication in a related field is essential. • Strong expertise in CRISPR, siRNA, shRNA or other genetic screening technology. • Strong expertise in conceiving ideas, designing experiments and interpreting results utilizing screening technology. • Work experience in biotech/pharma industry is highly preferred. • Hands-on experience with various cellular and in vivo models. • Hands-on experience with various screening approaches. • Experience with collaborating with multiple teams and working with CROs. • Strong interest in bioinformatics data analysis is preferred. • Highly self-motivated and highly collaborative. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
