Essential Responsibilities:
This role will function as a customer interface and technical decision maker for the design and integration of the SIVB for a commercial aircraft. You will interact with the customer integration team to generate/update the SIVB requirements. You will need to coordinate with other systems teams for their appropriate integration and lab test systems needs on the SIVB.

This position will be part of a Customer Interface Team which will provide technical leadership and serve as the primary customer interface for a large avionics systems project. This position will regularly interface with customers, partner companies, suppliers, and other senior leadership within the company.

Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact
- Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
- Support other GE businesses, supplier, and internal/external customers
- Be a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.
- Provide engineering support, within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
- Function as program manager when appropriate
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
- Develop and implement training modules as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements: The candidate must have:

- At least 10 years of technical and/or project leadership experience in Avionics or Aircraft Systems or related Product design and development.

- At least 7 years of experience working directly with the Avionics Integrated Systems and Avionics Lab Integration.

- Some experience with Integrated Modular Avionics, On-Board Maintenance Systems and Crew Interface/Display systems and Flight Management Systems is desired.

- Prior experience in Avionics Integration and lab test equipment.

- Familiarity with related industry standards, including ARINC 429, ARINC 661, AC 25-11A, FAR
25.1302, FAR

- Prior experience working directly with customers to define requirements, design and develop solutions to complex aircraft problems is required.

- Some working knowledge of the ARP-4754 Systems Development Process is good also a familiarity of ARP 4761 – Guidelines and Methods for Conducting Safety Assessments.

- Some prior experience in designing and testing avionics systems for commercial aircraft platforms by demonstrating compliance to FAR Part
25. 1309, 1316, 1317, 1353, utilizing applicable Advisory Circulars, SAE documents, and other industry guidance material.

- Have a working knowledge of developing test plans, conducting test, and preparing certification reports.

- Have a working knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle including requirements definition, validation, integration, certification, safety analysis, and verification.
