Serves as a Civilian Pay Technician in Finance Operations with wide latitude for the exercise of judgment. The Civilian Pay Technician has administrative and technical responsibility for the following activities:
- Responsible for the effectiveness of the Payroll program.
- Responsible for the correct and efficient operation of the Payroll Activity and PAID Control Unit under the VA PAID (ADP) system.
- Designated as PAID Liaison Officer for the station and is both administratively and technically responsible for effectuating and maintaining adequate controls to make certain that PAID regulations are complied with.
- Responsible for the operation and audit of the time and leave systems under both the DM&S regulations and the Annual and Sick Leave Act.
- Responsible for the proper training of all timekeepers.
- Maintains a comprehensive program of effective and practical audits of timekeepers, uniform allowance, subsistence allowance, housekeeping and non-housekeeping quarters, R transactions, out-of-system payments, out-of-balance reports, Central Office noted deficiencies, non-taxable quarters, and reconciliation of FEHB with carriers.
Work Schedule: Days 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
