Job Overview: Riverview Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting for a full time position available for a clinical psychologist to provide a full range of psychological services within an adult inpatient setting, including group and individual psychotherapy, psychological testing, treatment program development, and staff consultation. This is an opportunity to join a group of highly motivated, skilled professionals who are devoted to providing state-of-the-art mental health care utilizing a Recovery Model of treatment. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working with patients with severe personality disorders and/or forensic treatment settings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: In order to qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree supplemented by graduate level courses in Psychology to the level of a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology or closely allied field. Successful applicant must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an A.P.A. accredited doctoral program, or its equivalent, and must be license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Maine. Only post-secondary degrees from a College or University whose accreditation has been granted from a nationally recognized accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education will satisfy educational requirements. Information can be obtained at http://www.ope.ed.gov/accreditation/. Foreign degrees must be evaluated by the World Education Services for authentication and US equivalency. In addition, applicants must offer evidence of at least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience, one (1) year of which may have been an internship, including some administrative, supervisory, and/or research responsibility is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Position entails working with forensically referred patient population. Successful applicants should have three (3) years of experience working in a combination of forensic, psychiatric, and/or correctional settings. This may include internship. Experience working with individuals to restore competency is a prerequisite. Riverview is seeking an individual with broad life experiences and a heightened awareness of cultural diversity.

Licensing Requirements: Applicants must be licensed, or licensed eligible, as a Psychologist by the Maine State Board of Examiners in Psychology. Individuals pending licensure will be considered conditionally for six months. License pending is the equivalent of having completed pre and postdoctoral internship.

Base Salary $49,712.60-$67,662.40 Plus Recruitment Stipend of $2.20/hour and Direct Care Stipend of $.30/hour (approximately $5,000.00). Additional benefits: State-paid Health & Dental Insurance: $350.72 biweekly (approximately $8,500.00) and State’s share of employee’s retirement: 16.17 % of pay (approximately $11,500.00).
