Under supervision of the Manager, Benefits & Payroll, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing payroll processing, payroll reporting and analysis, and (2) ad hoc reporting reconciliation relating to payroll and accounting .
Essential Functions:
- Processes payroll to include, but not limited to, the following: upload time and attendance; ensure that payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely; sort checks/vouchers and mail to appropriate areas; conduct applicable payroll audits prior to transmitting payroll files. Creates BI360 payroll export file.
- Prepares applicable payroll reporting for requested departmental reports and conducts basic analysis.
- Prepare payroll journal entries to include, but not limited to, completion of payroll reconciliation– spreadsheet balancing net payroll to the G/L. Backup for preparing and posting payroll journal entries. Assists with reconciling general ledger payroll liability accounts.
Requirements:
- Minimum two year degree or commensurate level of experience
- Basic knowledge of mathematics and the ability research account reconciliation issues.
- Knowledge of standard office operating procedures and practices.
- Experience in 10 key input.
- Detail oriented
- Experience with payroll database software and experience running reports.
- Must be competent using Excel and Word and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure data integrity
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruptions.
- Must be able to perform detailed work accurately and efficiently within required time constraints.
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal and external customers.
