Job Summary

The Hardware Test Engineering team (HWTE) is looking for an exciting job position, Test Design Engineering Program Manager, to bring the Apple new product introduction method and processes to advanced instrumentation, systems and platforms. To start with, Test Design EPM is responsible for the technical management and support of test engineering development projects. The role will lead a cross-functional team of skilled Electrical and Mechanical engineers to recognize, assess, communicate and drive cross-functional test instrumentation readiness issues and risks. The immediate focus will be test device and PCB test instrumentation area ,then extend to other fields. We are looking for a candidate with strong technical experience on hardware, electronics, fixtures and PCB’s, solid engineering project management experience and contract manufacturers interaction experience.

5 years of program management experience in this field
Experience with one of the following tests and technologies is required:
Board level testing (e.g SoC, Memory, Power, and Batter …etc)
Display, acoustic, touch, sensors, or camera.
Automation control
Schematic, board, mechanical drawing review and assessment.
Experience with technologies and tests involved in mobile devices
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Willingness and ability to travel: 20% travel estimate in 5-10 day trips.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including effective presentation
Team player who can work collaboratively to get things done
Independent self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
BS EE/CE/ME degree required
Excellent English communication skills required — both verbal & written.
Description

Provide technical leadership and be responsible for NPI factory test device, test equipment and test fixture readiness. Including : Lead cross functional development team to manage Test Device and PCB test fixture OK2Fab design review and approval. Drive suppliers, integrate their deliverables and schedules into the test development project Manage and track development schedules to inline with project NPI major milestones. Interface with Test Design Leads and Operations to intercept product deliverables and serving as front line interface during roll out and managing risks and escalations. Driving Test station hardware improvement feedback to closure Managing Contract Manufactured R&D team to setup proper infrastructure and resource to support test stations Managing and evaluating technical competence of Fixture vendors Traveling to Contract Manufacturers or fixture vendors to ensure test readiness during NPI stages. Cross functional / divisional executive reviews. Facilitate and own test device allocation forecast and allocation across Apple product ecosystem. Ability to review technical data for milestone checkpoints (board layout, mechanical drawings, schematic review, code review, etc.) Engage future technology platform and system architecture teams for upcoming technology roadmaps, ensure test HW initiatives meet necessary new technology and product intersecting schedules. Explore and actively pursue opportunities for internal and external resource leveraging in our rapidly growing organization Evangelize key HWTE initiatives and solutions cross functionally to ensure maximum/proper reach Leading process improvement in above area
