Supply Chain Manager - China at M-Kopa / CHINAJOBHUNTER

The Sourcing lead role is a crucial role in the growing team that M-KOPA is building up in Mainland China. The overall purpose of this role will be to support M-KOPA’s business plan, identify potential suppliers, negotiate costing, create a list of qualified list of suppliers among other things.
Key tasks will include but are not limited to:
• Working with Engineering and Product teams to understand requirements, and provide feedback on possibilities from a market perspective
• Be the major point of contact for suppliers and arrange audits, supplier evaluations, arrange testing samples for the Engineering team etc
• Negotiate pricing in line with the business requirements
• Research and identify second source suppliers and contract manufacturers for critical components and products while working with engineering team on evaluation/qualification plans
• Working with Nairobi-based Supply Chain Management (SCM) team to support any requests as applicable
• Driving cost down projects across the product lines and accessories

INCUMBENTREQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of 8 years relevant experience and a good understanding of Operations (SCM, Production, Supplier selection and qualification)
• Understanding of the process of identifying, evaluating and qualifying a supplier
• Ability to understand technical details (Preferred)
• A good understanding of China and experience with sourcing of Electronic products
• Ability to accommodate various requirements, respond swiftly to requests, and work with multiple teams in different time zones
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment
