EDEN BROWN: Design Account Manager - Beijing

Design (Architect / Interior Designer) Account Manager required to spearhead a massive retail store, roll-out campaign in China.

Working out of Beijing, this really is an amazing opportunity to work for a globally leading architectural studio as they represent one of the world’s most recognised brands in their Chinese expansion programme. With multiple stores to be designed and delivered across the Chinese mainland, this is a pivotal role working at the top of the design team, where you will maintain strong communication with the client, ensuring a satisfactory design and result.

Previously you will have had a background in architectural and/or interior design. Applicants who can demonstrate exposure (recent) to working on retail projects and roll-out programmes are of particular interest. Critically, you will have a solid background in client account management, working at the highest levels with globally recognised brands. Previous experience of working in Europe/America is required - any added experience of working in China is clearly a bonus too.

Some further indicators of our client’s expectations are below:

• Proactive and dynamic approach, ‘how to’ & ‘make it happen’ rather than ‘restraint driven’

• Direct and highly communicative link to Account leads in America and London

• Full time hands-on oversight and management of all China based teams and consultants

• Strong design sensibility to oversea quality of work and decision making during project delivery

• Exceptional technical skills to understand complex projects and building systems

• Exceptional skills with complex in project entitlement and approvals

• Adaptable to understanding brand parameters and implementation of these parameters

• Able to deal with constantly changing priorities and fast on-the-fly decision making in a stressful environment

• A wealth of experience in the field with similar experience in international project delivery

• Western education, training and skill set-set preferred

• Mandarin language skills not required (but would be helpful)

There is an incumbent in the role already who would be able to give a measured handover, so our client is intent on hiring as quickly as possible. They can provide a basic salary with travel, accommodation and a good benefits package. If you are qualified, able and interested please contact Kieran How (k.how@edenbrown.com) as soon as possible.
