Maintenance Technician /Technician Trainee job - Pine State Trading Company - Gardiner, ME

Pine State Trading Company is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. Under general supervision of the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for assigned repairs and maintenance of all machinery, equipment, and facilities. This is a temp to hire position.

Responsibilities:

• Works with Manager to prioritize daily/monthly duties.


• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned.


• Troubleshoots and repairs machinery as problems arise.


• Provides reporting and root cause analysis with regard to building/machining trends.


• Performs lockout/tagout in accordance with company policy while servicing equipment


• Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required.


• Performs basic plumbing work as required.


• Dismantles and installs equipment as required.


• Transports goods or equipment as assigned.


• Works with Maintenance Manager to ensure that facilities are maintained in pristine condition.


• Participates in plant daily/monthly/yearly inspections.


• Backs up Facilities Maintenance Manager as needed.


• Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager

Requirements:

• Must be able to read and understand schematics and follow manual instructions.


• Must have excellent troubleshooting capabilities to pinpoint problems and resolve issues in a timely manner


• Must have basic electrical/plumbing background to be able to troubleshoot and repair


• Must be computer literate to use Microsoft products with experience in CAD software preferred.


• HVAC experience, gas license, Journeyman Electrician license preferred but must be willing to get training.


• Must be able to multi-task and work independently.


• Understanding regulatory requirements of food safety is required (FDA, HASAP, EPA, etc).


• Ability to work effectively as an independent or with fellow employees.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Maintenance duties are performed in a warehouse environment as well as an office environment.


• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions and temperature extremes (freezer/dairy).


• Continuous walking, standing, and climbing and frequent periods requiring sustained uncomfortable physical positions.


• Operates mechanized equipment which causes noise levels and vibrations.


• The ability to lift, carry and position light (15 pounds consistently) to heavy weight objects (50 pounds occasionally) and push/pulling equipment of equal weight is required including the utilization of proper body mechanics and techniques.
