Prime Teachers is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic iGCSE/A-Level subject teachers for the international programme at a high school in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.

Changzhou is a city in China with a population of 3.5 million, and lies in the south of Jiangsu Province in the Yangtze Delta area, neighbouring the Taihu Lake. It is connected to Shanghai in the east, Nanjing in the west, and shares a boundary with the Anhui Province to the south. The city is 160 km away from Shanghai and 110 km from Nanjing. It takes only an average of 1 hour to get to both Shanghai and Nanjing from Changzhou by high-speed train. A history that dates back to 426BC means that Changzhou has some great historical buildings and sites to visit, and is dotted with lakes and parks. The city has all the international amenities you will need, as well as some home comforts in the form of chain restaurants or western themed bars.

Currently, the International Programme follows the Cambridge curriculum for IGCSE and A-Level. The students come from mainstream Chinese education, and so their learning style must adapt to suit the International learning and teaching system, with assistance from their teacher. Students who opt for the international programme range in ability, from medium subject ability with an acceptable level of English, to a very advanced level of subject knowledge and English proficiency. Chinese students work very hard for their education and are generally well disciplined.

Essential Criteria (to apply for the positions you MUST meet the client’s following requirements):

• Native English speaker


• Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree and relevant teaching certificate (PGCE/State Teaching License etc.)


• At least 3 years’ experience teaching iGCSE and A Level.


• Candidates should be team players with well-developed communication skills.


• International experience, especially in ASEAN and China is preferred


• Experience with CIE Examinations, University Placement and the Duke of Edinburgh Programme would be an advantage.

Package:

• 1 year renewable contract
