Our client is the first international high school for Chinese nationals authorised by a leading British boarding school and approved by the Chinese Education Department. The school’s core management team consists of graduates from Harvard and Oxford Universities, who have considerable experience of working in leading multi-national organisations.

Qingdao is a picturesque coastal city that lies on the southern tip of China’s Shandong Peninsula, located in Jiaozhou Bay facing the Yellow Sea. Qingdao is well known for its European architecture and attractive coastal landscape. The city has many spaces of parkland and forest, and is close to the Laoshan Scenic Area which has its own beautiful mountain landscapes and waterfalls.

The Role: Provide pupils with high quality teaching of English Language and/or Literature throughout the school at IGCSE

Job Description:

• Develop and organize Schemes of Work and support the Headmaster in all aspects of the management of the curriculum.


• Use appropriate strategies for teaching and classroom management and set performance target for students.


• Work with the other subject teachers of the school to raise students’ standards of English usage through subject teaching


• Involve with any other aspects of school life associated with the English curriculum.


• Support the pastoral work of the school in taking on the role of a House Parent or Tutor.


• Play a full part in the life and running of the School (including boarding, sports, the wider curriculum and weekend OP/activities/)


• Report to the Headmaster

Requirements:

• Bachelor or above degree in English


• Native English speaker


• Relevant teaching experience.


• Boarding school experience preferable but not necessary.
