Employer Overview:


The employer is a newly incorporated company in Jersey that is ultimately owned by a leading Insurance Company; one of the largest institutional investors in China’s capital market.


The company’s predominant purpose in Jersey is to search for, make and maintain investment in the UK and Europe.


Position Overview:


Due to the growth of the outbound investment from China, King Phoenix Tree Limited was incorporated in Jersey to establish presence from which it can monitor the operation of real estate and equity investment portfolios and manage more actively and closely its existing investments in the region. As a result a post of Investment Director has become available for the right candidate who will be responsible for managing all of the employer’s operations from Jersey. The position will entail travelling to the UK and Europe.


Job specification:


  • Actively participating in the management of holding properties.

  • Coordinating with co-investors and potential partners.

  • Regularly report to headquarters in China

  • Prepare and present financial and valuation reports.

  • Actively search for investment opportunities in the UK and other countries.

  • Actively participate in the on-site due diligence of investment projects.

  • Introduce investment opportunities.

  • Liaise with the regulatory authorities, agencies, peers, investors, teams globally and develop and maintain contacts and good relations.

  • Participate in the development of the global annual and half year development plan.

Skills and qualifications:


  • Strong business and finance related post graduate degree, preferably MBA.

  • Minimum 10 years work experience in strategic planning, assets management and finance, with at least 6 years of working in a senior position.

  • Strong understanding of China’s regulations on outbound investment.

  • Experience in working with the structure and the internal procedures of China state owned Enterprise or China listed corporation.

  • Must be fluent in English and Chinese. Fluency in an additional language such as Spanish, Russian or French will be an advantage.

  • Must have strong perception of the market and policy and the capacity to deliver effective strategic thinking.
