POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Site Manager, the Academic Assistant/Program Leader will assist mainly with the implementation of academic support and credit recovery but will also contribute to enrichment, and recreational activities for Balboa’s ExCEL after school program. This position is responsible for helping to maintain a safe and clean After School Program site; ensuring a high level of program quality that works to establish a positive relationship with all program participants and their families. · Provide leadership to a team of Manufacturing Engineers with the aim of achieving operational goals (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality, and Productivity)
· Offer day-to-day technical guidance to engineers and technicians in the field of engineering and maintenance
· Manage and execute the capital plan
· Examine the improvement ideas from maintenance and production and executes them
· Improve the maintenance technologies including preventative maintenance plans based on machine conditions
· Increase the efficiency of the operative maintenance group with technological support
· Control the documentation processes required by ISO 9001
· Establish and manage a cross trained engineering group which works on a common base according to a well defined strategy and fully supports the manufacturing cells both in terms of daily activities and long term improvements by working close to cell leaders, production planners and shift supervisors on the appropriate level of engineering group
· Lead NPIs, Machine installations and technology transfers
· Create and improve manufacturing documents, owns the engineering part of document management system
· Utilize Six Sigma as a method of product and process improvement· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of facilities maintenance or manufacturing experience)
· At least 5 additional years of experience in a maintenance leadership role
· At least 5 years of experience in process improvement, optimization large capital projects, or safety excellenceAdditional Eligibility Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred · Strong problem solving and mentoring skills · Six Sigma training is preferred · Change oriented mind-set · Strong organizational skills · Strong oral and written communication skills · Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
