Our client is one of the world largest food producer with HQ in US. For business expanding in China, they are hiring a solo legal (manager level) to oversee legal issues across business in China, including factories, several legal entities, and its operation. The position focuses on China, but further involvement in our Asia regional business can be included

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As the solo legal counsel in the company, you need to provide general legal support to its business in China including in relation to strategic initiatives, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance issues, advertising, employment law issues, review and negotiation of contracts and dispute resolution/avoidance. To be specific, you should develop strong relationships and trust with company’s leadership team and timely communicate with them to improve their understanding of its legal obligations, internal policies. For the dairy work, you need to provide advice on marketing/food law issues in particular nutrition and health claims regulations, advertising and marketing codes to ensure that the company complies with the law whilst developing innovative and engaging advertising and promotional materials. What’s more, you should provide timely compliance training with focus on FCPA and anticorruption.

Desired Skills and Experience:

To consider this role, you must be a qualified PRC lawyer with a degree or above in law. At least 5 yrs PQE as a lawyer in a law firm with international exposure and a multi-national company. Experience in FMCG or Retail industry is preferred. You are expected to have solid knowledge in advertising law, corporate law and commercial law and have a good understanding of FCPA OR Anti-Bribery. What’s more, you should like to work close with business people, have a good communication skills and good people management skills. Good English is a must.
