The Windows and Windows Live International(WWLI) team has an opportunity for Senior International Project Manager Lead to contribute to the release of various WWL products to both Simplified and Traditional Chinese users. WWLI Localization Experiences team has responsibility for driving the linguistic standards and in-country quality programs for Windows, Windows Live, Windows Store and IE enhancing the localized experience of our customers in over 100+ languages. We are looking for a strong lead to play a central role for GCR localization and in-country quality projects of WWL products.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading a strong IPM team in China with emphasis on advancing the IPM discipline and driving career development.
Accountable to manage China Standard projects for Windows products and other standard/compliance projects in GCR with strong partnership with LCA team and Redmond World Readiness team.
Accountable to build & prioritize China quality requirements(for both Simplified and Traditional Chinese) and drive quality projects with team members, such as Linguistic quality engagement while collaborating with Redmond Localization project team and In-country functional testing for WWL features working with Redmond int’l and feature testing team and WR team.
Accountable to engage with peer teams in region(Asia/Europe) and US actively to align global process for the localization projects and quality projects advocating Chinese requirements including market specific concerns for WR engagement.
Partner with China stakeholders in GCR(PC Eco system, MNO BGs, NSO/LCA, A&O, CCG, DPE/MVP, CSS, other R&D teams, etc) to advocate product quality plan and to collect customers’ feedback
Budget accountability and optimizing processes to maximize efficiency, budget, and resources toward clear decision making for WWLi China
Requirements:
Successful track record managing IPMs, Program Managers or other related discipline in China. Experience of managing SDET team is plus.
Minimum of 7 years relevant localization project management experience, ideally across multiple release cycles
Minimum 5 years of management experience with excellent people management skills in engineering disciplines.
Experience working with geo-distributed teams in Asia, Europe and US.
Strong technical skills, especially in the area of globalization and localization
Strong product knowledge related to Windows OS, Server and Web technologies.
Strong technical knowledge about China specific features(Font, IME, Search, Chinese minority languages, etc)
Proven expertise in identifying, designing, developing and implementing localization process improvements
High level of communication skills (written and oral both in English and Chinese) and professional maturity
Demonstrated and successful cross-group work and strong leadership ability in a matrixed environment
Strong process orientation with excellent analytical and documentation skills
Energy and passion for Chinese customers and product quality
