Production/Conference Director - Asia

A leading global business media company with a focus on large scale, higher margin events.

They inform markets and bring the world’s buyers and sellers together at events, online, in print and provide them with the information they need to do business successfully. They focus on serving professional commercial communities, from doctors to game developers, from journalists to jewellery traders, from farmers to pharmacists around the world.

The role:

We’re looking for a dynamic, driven, entrepreneurial conference-savvy head of production with proven practical implementation experience to lead the production team in one of the global hubs in Asia.

Focus would be on developing conferences around established local brands but also with a view to growing conferences with clients yet to exploit their local potential.

The Head of Production would have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the local production team as well as strategic input for the growth and development of the business.

The person:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success at a senior level within the commercial conference world, with in-depth knowledge and experience of the business. Ideally you will have:

• worked with one of the main global commercial conference companies with c 8 years + experience
• experience of managing a production team of 4 people plus with a focus on Large Scale events
• generation of new conferences from scratch
• International experience
• Track record in recruiting and managing high performing individuals
• Topic generation
• Budget setting, forecasting and P&L management
• Creating and delivering business and event strategies
• Experience of implementing new business development ideas
• Track record in effective brand communication
• Team creation and expansion experience
• Contributing to business direction and strategy at a senior level
