Position Description
Amerigen Pharmaceuticals is actively seeking a talented and motivated Corporate Accounting Manager to join the finance and accounting team in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. This is a newly created role that will be an important contributor to the continued growth of the company. Key responsibilities for this position are managing the monthly accounting close and consolidation process, financial reporting, technical accounting and audit support. This position will help to ensure that US GAAP accounting principles and company policies and procedures are consistently and appropriately applied to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and a strong internal control environment over financial reporting. The position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and will work closely with others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and assist with management of the monthly accounting close process including the accurate, complete and timely recording of all monthly accounting entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Develop and manage a financial consolidation process by working with U.S. and China accounting teams.Coordinate with Chinese accounting team to ensure intra/intercompany activity is properly recorded and eliminated upon consolidation.Investigate material or unusual variance/fluctuations on the consolidated and legal entity balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements, and provide related explanations to the company's executive management team.Journal entry preparation, review and approval.Manage revenue accounting procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP including analysis and recording of chargebacks, returns, rebates and discounts.Perform research and create documentation of technical accounting matters that focus on adherence with U.S. GAAP and other relevant company policies/standards in the areas of revenue recognition, contingencies, reserves, leases, asset impairment, equity accounting and others as needed.Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements to ensure the accuracy and completeness of company filings.Liaise with independent auditors in completing annual financial statement audit.Ensure the effective design and operation of internal controls over financial reporting within the corporate accounting function.Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures and systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporate accounting function.Collaborate with various functional departments as appropriate including research and development, regulatory, operations, sales and marketing and business development.Provide support to the budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes including development of detailed operating plans and preparation of forward-looking financial models.Participate in special projects as needed.Requirements, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and CPA required. MBA preferred.Prior experience in pharma/med device industry preferred.Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting/finance.Big 4 audit experience preferred.Experience with global financial statement consolidations including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency.Thorough US GAAP accounting and financial reporting knowledge, understanding of corporate financial processes and demonstrated experience with implementing/enhancing internal controls over financial reporting.Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting software required (QuickBooks preferred).Strong MS Excel skills required including experience with financial statement modeling.Ability to identify & resolve accounting issues. Detail-oriented. Critical thinker. Problem solver.Significant experience completing projects requiring individual initiative, flexibility and tight timeframes with minimal supervision.Ability to think creatively, highly driven, energetic, and self-motivated. Highest standards of ethics, accuracy and precision; highly organized.Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of presenting complex financial information in an easy to understand format.Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization in an open office setting and in a collaborative environment.About the Company
