2. Data collation and analysis
Assist in statistical analysis of nutrition related data and support the production of key reports on nutrition in collaboration with the Programme Division and other partners.Support development of nutrition fact sheets/brochures and other related materials.End Result(s): Analytical reports on nutrition related data; UNICEF related websites updated and fact sheets on the Four Ps produced.3. Data quality assurance and inter-sectoral linkages
Contribute to UNICEF's technical positions and advice related to reporting on the situation of women and children as required, including provision of inputs for responses to ad hoc requests from senior management (i.e. ROs, COs), partner organizations and others.Cross check and validate nutrition-related data in UNICEF publications, press releases, briefing notes and presentations.End Result(s): Harmonization of data across UNICEF and partner organizations and accurate data being provided in a timely manner.4. Nutrition inter-agency and methodological work
Participate in the nutrition related data reconciliation and harmonization exercises.Contribute to the on-going improvement of data quality at data collection stage, including through household surveys and routine reporting systems.Support development, modification and testing of measurement tools, where appropriate.End Result(s): Through interagency work, improved data quality and methods of estimating, collecting, analyzing and using nutrition data.5. Data dissemination and advocacy
Support innovative ways to best serve UNICEF's in-house data and information needs at country, regional and global levels.Support the development of efficient and effective ways to prepare and disseminate products and provide input into making data, analyses and products accessible and available through different media.Support the update of relevant UNICEF related website pages for nutrition related indicators.End Result(s): Updated data available in key global reports, articles and other data-related reports (i.e. www.data.unicef.org). Qualifications of Successful Candidate - A first-level university degree (Bachelor's) in Epidemiology, Nutrition, Statistics, or a directly-related technical field(s) is a minimum requirement. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in data management and statistical research, analysis of data from various sources, household survey implementation (quantitative and qualitative) is required.Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.
