COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER Job (ShangHai, BeiJing, China)

Role Summary/Purpose: The Communications Manager is responsible for effectively leading and executing media relations programs for new product introductions, special industry events, trade shows, press conferences, announcements, etc, with a primary focus on supporting services, Go Blue and F&L businesses. Essential Responsibilities: - Developing & executing a strategic public relations communication plan in support of the specific businesses' strategic, marketing and operating goals, and managing the overall external communication process.
- Integrating the public relations efforts and messaging from GE Corporate and GE Healthcare into the specific businesses communications
- Partnering with Employee Communications & Marketing Communications in the development and dissemination of the main messages to the global audience based on the business short term, annual and longer-term goals
- Supporting cross-business projects or initiatives that require communications to media, including trade shows, academic conferences, etc.
- Supporting Public Relations CoE team projects as needed; collaborate and contribute to global themes and initiatives
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with internal and
external clients, including P&Ls, functions, and media representatives
- Writing and editing communications materials, including press releases, speeches, pitches
- Issue and crisis management for specific businesses
- Manage PR agency and other external resources to ensure value and adherence to objectives and budget
- Where appropriate drives healthcare advocacy strategy with diverse audiences (governments, patient advocacy groups, thought leaders) to support overall GEHC strategic vision and individual business goals Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in business, communications, journalism, English, Marketing, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years solid communications and/or public relations experience in a corporate communications department or public relations agency; Prior experience in journalism or B2B field will be a definite advantage.
- Direct working experience in Healthcare PR with knowledge of healthcare industry and media is preferred
- Good knowledge of the China market, excellent network of contacts with China's senior / influential media, industry associations and opinion-leaders
- A creative, strategic thinker but pragmatic and hands-on in execution; strong planning and priority setting skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective interpersonal / communications skills including excellent Chinese public relations writing skills and a good command of English, both spoken and written
- Proven experiences in managing agencies and project teams; Ability to identify and organize resources
- Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others
