Bilingual Senior Manager Tourism Development, Asia-Pacific - NYC & Company - New York, NY

As Senior Manager of Tourism Development, Asia Pacific, the candidate will be responsible for planning, developing and directing marketing and tourism development activities for New York City.

Qualifications:

Must be fluent in Chinese and EnglishBachelors degree, preferably in hospitality, marketing or other related fieldMinimum 5 years hospitality and tourism industryMust be willing to travel 40%-60%Able to multi-taskDetail orientedHighly organizedProactive

Responsibilities:

Formulate tourism-building strategies and initiatives directed at Asia-Pacific region.Territories include English and other language speaking countries. Fluency in Chinese essential, working knowledge of Korean or Japanese preferred.Compile and analyze travel and tourism trends and data for travelers from Asia-Pacific region and analyze and evaluate consumer dynamics, regional tourism marketing and development efforts, and brand positioning; draft tourism development strategy and market analysis report.Research and analyze statistics of target visitors; recommend marketing activities including mass media advertisements, as well as unconventional tourism-building strategies; review and monitor media plans to ensure they comply with marketing and tourism development strategies; research and analyze marketing and promotion tools in the region.Oversee day to day management of NYC & Company offices in Australia, China, India, Japan and Korea; ensure the initiatives and marketing strategies and plans established in New York are implemented correctly overseas, as well as comply with the laws, regulations and standards of the foreign counties.Prepare and deliver presentations in Chinese to foreign trade representatives, and at trade shows and promotional events in the region. Where appropriate address audiences in English or other languages such as Japanese and Korean.Meet, communicate and negotiate with US Government Officials, international trade organizations, foreign government agencies, and locate in Australia, China, India, Japan and Korea.Draft reports for senior management regarding marketing programs, pricing strategies and competitive brand positioning.Formulate, develop and manage departmental marketing budgets.Knowledge of hotel relations and NYC hotel product required to negotiate effective collaborative partnerships, for the purpose of product development, between Tour operators, Travel Partners and NYC & Company hotels.Negotiate with NYC & Company members to sponsor Tour Operator, Travel Agency and Airline Events, this would be for promotional prize draws, product familiarization trips encompassing all ground product (hotel, transportation, meals, cultural and sightseeing activities.Ability to work with international clients on various projectsSalary dependent on experienceEOE
