UE/UX DESIGNER



Key Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team to create research plans, conduct research and tests, analyze & communicate findings to key collaborators
• Conduct market research & competitive analysis, as needed
• Analyze primary findings and 3rd-party data analytics to develop user personas, mental models and customer journeys & service maps
• Validate business requirements against user needs
• Assist with user research and usability testing activities;
• Conduct and present heuristic and competitive UX reviews;
• Collaborate with content strategists on hierarchy and taxonomy;
• Collaborate with creative team on interaction design and flows;
• Help with new business proposals / pitches when they include a user research or usability component. This will typically require inputs for project plan, resourcing & timelines.
• Present research findings to clients and internal teams.
• 5+ years experience as a researcher and designer, working with clients, end users and design teams to ensure the intended, consistent user experience, styles and standards
• Ability to lead user research, testing activities and deliverables
• Ability to collaborate as part of a cross-functional team, locally as well as remotely across the region
• Experience with target customer segmentation, translating to test participant criteria / recruitment screeners; experience collaborating with recruiting agencies a plus
• Experience planning for and conducting many/most of the following research practices:
• heuristic evaluations,
• user interviews,
• contextual inquiry,
• customer focus groups,
• card sorting exercises, and
• usability studies;
• Experience moderating the above types of studies/tests, ideally in both English and Mandarin or Cantonese
• Experience with online/remote testing tools, customer surveys & questionnaires, a plus
• Service design and ethnographic research experience a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong presentation skills
• English fluency and either Mandarin or Cantonese fluency (ideally both to some extent)
• Strong understanding of interaction design, designing for gestures and usability best practices
• Understanding of website, mobile app, responsive design and the latest technologies
• Some experience creating information architecture, site maps, wireframes and rapid prototypes, but note that this is not the primary focus of this role
